Booking & Planning
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks ahead for desert trips and VIP riads, especially during high season (October–April). Private drivers and city excursions can often be arranged with just a few days' notice.
Can you build a fully custom itinerary?
Yes that's exactly what our Custom Experience service is for. Tell us your dates, interests, and pace, and we'll put together a route that mixes any of our services into one seamless trip.
Do you cater to solo travelers, couples, and families?
All of the above. Group sizes and pacing are adjusted to who's traveling including family friendly desert camps and quieter routes for couples.
Desert & Excursions
What's the difference between the Merzouga excursion and the Desert Experience?
The Merzouga excursion is our classic 2–3 day route from Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains and gorges, ending with a camel trek and overnight desert camp. The Desert Experience is for travelers who want to linger longer in the Sahara, with multi night luxury camps and more time in the dunes.
What should I pack for the desert?
Layers desert days are warm, nights can be cold. A scarf or headwrap, sunscreen, comfortable closed shoes, and a light jacket for evenings around the fire are all worth bringing.
Is the camel trek suitable for beginners or kids?
Yes, our camel treks are gentle and guided at a relaxed pace, suitable for first timers and most children. Let us know in advance if you'd prefer a shorter walking option instead.
Drivers & Transport
Are your drivers licensed and insured?
Every driver is licensed, insured, and vetted by our team most have worked with LUMARMADE for years and know Morocco well beyond the main routes.
Can I hire a private driver for just a few hours?
Yes, our Private Ride With Driver service is available hourly, for a full day, or for your entire stay in Morocco.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight in real time for airport transfers, so your driver will be there whenever you actually land no extra charge for delays.
Payments & Cancellations
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfer, major credit cards, and cash payment in person for select services. Details are confirmed when your itinerary is finalized.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 7 days before your trip are fully refundable. Within 7 days, a partial fee may apply depending on the service. We'll always confirm specifics before you book.
General Morocco Travel
Is Marrakech safe for travelers?
Yes, Marrakech is generally very safe for visitors. As with any city, normal travel precautions apply, and our local guides are always available for advice.
What's the best time of year to visit?
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures for both the city and the desert. Summer can be very hot, especially in the Sahara.
Do I need to speak French or Arabic?
Not at all. Our team and drivers speak English, French, and Arabic, so you're covered throughout your trip.
